I am wanting to camp near Estacada for the 4th of July. Is there a way we can reserve a campground or is this a first come first serve basis?

Hi Matt, Hope you plan on visiting the Timber Festival for the 4th! it has one of the best Fireworks shows! Now to your question. Some campgrounds are PGE owned, State owned, County owned and others are US Forest Service. Generally reservations can be made up to 6-months in advance. US Forest campsites can be booked through recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777. Promontory Campground is by the reservoir marina and can bee booked here https://www.portlandgeneral.com/corporate-responsibility/environmental-stewardship/water-quality-habitat-protection/parks-campgrounds/promontory-park The other great park with campsites is Milo McIver State Park. Campsites can be book at https://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=102 Lastly there are a few area campgrounds run by Clackamas County and their website to book is http://reservations.clackamas.us/Index.asp?actiontype=camping Hope this helps you find a great spot to camp! Oh and to get Timber Fest Tickets go to http://estacadatimberfestival.com
